Generally in practical applications, the main measures to reduce the wear of slurry pumps are as follows:
1) Adopt reasonable impeller geometric parameters: In order to meet the required head and reduce wear, choose a larger blade inlet diameter and outlet width, which reduces the relative speed at the inlet of the impeller, reduces impeller wear, and prevents clogging.
2) Reasonable matching of volute and impeller: the shape of the slurry pump volute, such as unreasonable design, will accelerate wear, the design should consider the best match with the impeller, while meeting the performance of the pump as far as possible to minimize the speed of liquid flow in the volute, otherwise the wear will be very serious.
3) Reasonable selection of materials considering the characteristics of the medium: the service life of the slurry pump is largely related to whether the selected material is appropriate. In the process of material selection, the geometry and particle size of solid particles in the slurry should be fully taken into account. If the solid particles are small and regular in shape, the particle distribution is uniform and there are no sharp spikes, non-metallic materials such as rubber and engineering plastics can be selected to ensure better wear resistance and reduce costs. When the geometry of solid particles in the slurry is extremely irregular and the particle size composition is widely distributed, materials with high hardness and good wear resistance should be selected, such as hard nickel and high chromium cast iron materials, because these materials have certain advantages for resisting the wear of solid particles in the slurry.
4) The use of reasonable anti-wear structure: the use of a reasonable structure is an effective way to slow down the wear of the slurry pump. For example, the lining is set, the bushing and impeller are thickened, and the auxiliary blade and impeller are set to reduce wear.
