The mechanical seal is a device which is composed of at least a pair of end faces perpendicular to the axis of rotation in the fluid pressure and the elastic force of the compensation mechanism and the auxiliary seal to keep the relative sliding of the paste and prevent the leakage of the slurry. Mechanical seal is generally composed of friction pair, buffer compensation mechanism, auxiliary sealing ring and transmission mechanism.

The principle of mechanical seal is that the shaft through the transmission seat and push ring, drive the rotating ring, static ring fixed, rely on the medium pressure and spring force between the static ring seal end face tightly fit, prevent the leakage of the medium. After the friction pair surface is worn, the compensation is realized under the push of the spring. In order to prevent the medium from leaking between the moving ring and the shaft, the moving ring sealing ring is provided, while the static ring sealing ring prevents the medium from leaking between the static ring and the gland.
